What a Boiler Service Involves

A typical boiler service includes:

• Visual Inspection:

  A check for any signs of damage, leaks, corrosion, or improper installation. 

• Internal Component Check:

  The engineer removes the boiler casing to inspect internal parts like the heat exchanger, burner, spark electrodes, and safety devices. 

• Cleaning:

  Removing dust and debris from internal components, particularly the heat exchanger and burner, can improve efficiency. 

• Flue & Ventilation Check:

  The engineer ensures the flue is not blocked and that there is adequate ventilation around the boiler. 

• Combustion & Gas Pressure Test:

  Using a flue gas analyser, the engineer checks the gas pressure and combustion to ensure the correct mix of gas and air is being burned. 

• Electrical & Safety Checks:

  Electrical connections are checked, and all safety devices are tested to confirm they are working effectively. 

• System Pressure & Controls:

  The system pressure is checked and adjusted, and the boiler's controls are verified to be functioning correctly. 

• Report:

  You receive a service report detailing the findings, any identified faults, and a list of recommended repairs.
